Welcome to Handa Lab.

Thank you for visiting our website.  We are engaged in synthesizing and developing new polynuclear metal complexes and phthalocyanine complexes. The synthesized complexes are investigated for their absorption and reflectance spectral properties, magnetic behaviors such as temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibilities, and electrochemical behaviors such as redox potentials measured by cyclic voltammograms (CVs) etc, to understand the complexes from the view points of the relationship with their molecular and crystal structures for their functionalities.

Lantern-type (paddlewheel-type) dinuclear complexes are assembled  mainly using a linkage ligand such as pyrazine, with coordination at the axial position of the dinuclear complexes. Macrocyclic ligands are polydentate ligands that accumulate metal ions.  We are interested in the interactions between the metal ions within these complexes. In addition, the phthalocyanine complexes are expected to have various applications as a functional dye having a chracteristic light absorption band  in the near infrared region around 680 nm.

If you are interested in our research, we welcome you.
